The new Intel 13th Gen processors are certainly worth waiting for. The reason is quite simple: these processors will offer the “world's best gaming experience,” according to Intel's CEO, Patrick Gelsinger. Raptor Lake architecture is expected to ensure the new CPUs reach 6.0 GHz.
Raptor Lake is Intel's codename for the 13th-generation of Intel Core processors based on a hybrid architecture, utilizing Raptor Cove performance cores and Gracemont efficient cores. Raptor Lake launched on October 20, 2022. Mobile versions are expected to be released by the end of the year.
Following AMD's late-2022 launch of the Ryzen 7000 series, Intel's own next-gen CPUs are now official. The 13th Gen "Raptor Lake" desktop CPUs hit the market on October 20, 2022 and in the usual way, there's a lot to talk about.

What is the fastest Intel processor?
Intel claims that the 5.6GHz turbo boost clock speed of the new Core i9 chip is the fastest mobile processor as of December 2022, with 11 percent faster single-thread performance and 49 percent faster multitask performance over the prior-generation Intel Core i9-12900HK chip.
The latest Intel Core i7 CPU generations include quad-core, hexa-core, and octa-core, and 12-core configurations. Again, the Intel Core i7 CPUs outperform their Core i5 counterparts and are much faster than the entry-level Core i3 CPUs.

I9 is still better than i7 with higher core count and cache, but the naming convention is much more arbitrary with no i7 vs i9 feature differences. 10 core or more = i9, 8 core = i7, and that's it. With 10th Gen Core X though, Intel simply made all processors i9.
The Intel Core i5 is an all-purpose processor that offers solid performance for gaming, web browsing, and doing basic work. The Intel Core i7 has more processing power and is better for high-performance gaming, content creation, multimedia editing, and specialized applications.
Key Difference between Intel Core i5 and i7
The clock speed of Core i5 is 1.2-3.6 GHz, while the clock speed of corei7 is 1.3-3.5 GHz. The cache size of Core i5 is 3MB-6MB. On the other hand, the cache size of Core i7 is 4MB-8MB.
The most important reason to upgrade to the new Intel's 12th Gen processors is the performance gains that reaches up to 11 to 12 percent compared to the 11th Gen processor, of course it's not a big increase in performance worth upgrading to if you already have an 11th gen processor, but it'll be a great jump in ...
Intel's 13th gen Core processors launch on October 20, 2022. The line will consist of three models: the Core i5-13600, Core i7-13700 and flagship Core i9-13900.
Alder Lake H-series has the most powerful 12th gen mobile chips from Intel that are capable of going against the raw performance of Apple M1 Max. The top of the line 12900HK's performance is also comparable to the general performance of the 12900K chip.
What socket will Intel's 13th Gen Use? Intel's 13th Gen CPUs use the LGA1700 socket, the same as the 12th gen Intel processors. These CPUs are compatible with z690, z790, h770, h670, b760, b660 motherboards.
12th Gen Intel CPUs are here
These complement its Alder Lake desktop chips, released November 2021. While you can't buy the mobile chips on their own, they have begun appearing in laptops.
Is 12th Gen Intel better than 11th Gen?
Overall, the 12th-gen CPU clocks in a healthy 16 percent advantage over the 11th gen chip.
The announcement was made during that year's WWDC Keynote Address. At the time Apple announced the transition, Jobs attributed the switch to a superior product roadmap that Intel offered, as well as an inability to build products envisioned by Apple based on the PowerPC product roadmap.
A lot of the same, but faster
However, with 13th Generation, Intel added more cores, faster clock speeds, and “up to 15% better single-thread performance.” Which, in our testing, does show pretty impressive performance.
Apple's new laptops and desktop uses its own chips, instead of processors from Intel. Apple is making the move because it already makes its own phone and tablet processors, and it says it can improve laptop battery life.

Intel's 14th Gen Meteor Lake processors will be the first to leverage its 4nm process node. Manufactured in Ireland by Fab 34, mass production was planned for the second half of 2022.
Typically, you will get better CPU performance from Core i5 processors over Core i3. All Core i3 processors are dual-core, while i5 processors come in dual-core and quad-core variants. Other than the cores and threads, you will also need to consider the generation of the processor.
“Generally speaking, Intel Core i9 processors offer higher performance because they have more cores, higher frequencies, more cache and draw more power,” Moorhead says. “If you or your users require the highest performance with single-threaded or multithreaded workloads, the i9 is the one to choose.”
Intel Core i7 processors are typically faster and more capable than Core i5 CPUs. The latest i7 chips offer up to six cores and 12 threads, making them better suited for advanced multitasking.
